During my MA in Anthropology I made an ethnographic film exploring queer craft.
I filmed conversations with queer people as they worked on a textile project. And as filmmaker, I was also crafting as we spoke. Comments made by my participants interwove across conversations, and so I edited the footage to give a feel of a conversation between them. I then cut out frames and overlayed them so that their hands and the textiles overlap to create visual, audio and thematic collages.
